PRESENTATION

Golden color and a naturally sweet aroma instantly catch your eye when serving baked plantains at the table—family dinners feel a bit more special thanks to that warm, oven-roasted look. Soft, caramel-like bites give every mouthful that NICE tropical flavor, with just the right contrast between a tender inside and a gently crisp edge—kids usually go for seconds (sometimes thirds!). These baked plantains bring home that sunny, crowd-pleasing taste you only get from really good sweet plantains, while the hint of golden brown color just looks amazing in person or on a busy family's weeknight meal. Simple desserts shine with these plantain recipes, but they work equally well as a vegan side dish next to savory choices, adding versatility and making everyone feel like they're getting something special without having to leave home. For anyone looking to bring a little plantain nutrition front and center, these DELICIOUS bites totally deliver on potassium, vitamin A, and vitamin B-6—so they're just as good for you as they taste.

Busy schedules never seem to slow down appreciation for baked plantains because they're always reliable for last-minute gatherings or planned special occasions (especially with dietary needs like gluten-free meals). These are a popular pick among tropical recipes since they're naturally gluten-free, easy to slide into any lineup, and pack lots of flavor into every bite (plus families love the way they look on a plate). Great for big family meals, weeknight treats, or fun potlucks, sweet plantains make an impact whether served as a vegan side or finished as a comforting dessert—try them plain for a lighter taste, or dusted with cinnamon if you feel a bit festive. Home cooks reach for them when they want simple wins, and anyone who enjoys plantain recipes that go well with everything will probably keep coming back for more. Dessert, snack, or main meal enhancer... soft, roasted plantains are always a hit with everyone around the table. You just can't go wrong—they fit all kinds of family traditions, work most nights, and bring out smiles with every sweet, impressive bite.

Once you have cleaned the plantain, slice it into pieces not too thin 4, about 1/4 inch thick will be fine. After slicing both plantains 5, line a baking tray with parchment paper and pour a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil over the bottom 6

Then add the sliced plantain 7 and season with salt 8. Next, bake the plantain in a preheated fan oven at 392°F, on the middle rack, for about 10 minutes, flip it, and continue cooking for another 10 minutes 9.

Once the plantain has reached the right golden color 10, remove it from the oven and place it on a serving dish, finish with some fresh parsley 11, serve it with an avocado cream, or guacamole, or with your preferred sauce, and it will be ready to enjoy 12

Plantain chips can be made in the same way, adding spices like paprika, turmeric, and pepper, or chili for a spicy version.

The plantain can also be prepared in an air fryer at 392°F for about 12-15 minutes, making sure to monitor and stir it if necessary.
